The project concerns the extension and renovation of a residential house, in Saint Didier au Mont d'Or.
The existing house built in 1937 takes a style inspired by architects of the modern era such as Mallet Stevens, Le Corbusier on his first projects, inspired by the Staatliches Bauhaus school, early 20th century.
The extension is contemporary while adopting a modern language, in the treatment of its openings,
the idea was to respect the existing while sublimating it, as if it had always been there.
Overhanging the garden, treating the empty as a base aligned with that of the house.
All the joinery have been redesigned to be as faithful as possible to the design of the original frames:
High rails and cut-outs sometimes offering horizontal geometries of the bays resuming the spirit of the 30s and 40s.
